Pupil Premium

Treetops School

Principles
  • We recognise that all our learners have an EHCP and many have co-existing conditions which impacts on their learning and access to a meaningful curriculum. We understand that this is their biggest barrier to making progress.

  • We aim to ensure all our learners exceed their perceived potential regardless of their backgrounds.

  • We ensure that teaching and learning opportunities meet the needs of all of the learners.

  • We ensure that appropriate provision is made for learners who belong to vulnerable groups, this includes ensuring that the needs of socially disadvantaged learners are adequately assessed and addressed.

  • We recognise that not all learners who receive free school meals will be socially disadvantaged.

  • We also recognise that not all learners who are socially disadvantaged are registered or qualify for free school meals.

  • We reserve the right to allocate the Pupil Premium funding to support any learner or groups of learners the school has legitimately identified as being socially disadvantaged.

  • Pupil premium funding will be allocated by the Senior Leadership Team who will identify priority areas in line with the school improvement plan to support learners with both social and academic progress.

  • Limited funding and resources means that not all learners receiving free school meals will be in receipt of pupil premium interventions at one time.

Provision
  • All our work through the pupil premium will be aimed at providing additional, individualised learning opportunities and enabling learners to exceed their perceived potential.

  • The Governors of the school will publish information on how they have used their Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) to address the issue of ‘narrowing the gap’, for socially disadvantaged learners.

The Governors have targeted the PPG to:
  • Increase learner engagement especially for our learners that have limited opportunities to experience the world around them.

  • Increase access to specialist interventions E.g. Speech and Language, Occupational Therapy, Educational Psychology, Counselling.

  • Allow learners access to extracurricular activities and educational visits that would otherwise be inaccessible.
